The high torque is also very useful in load carriers, tandems and rickshaws, as well as when pulling trailers. The EBS power management combined with the PUMA motor create large reserves , that provide you with powerful support on steep slopes and in low mountain ranges. The EBS PUMA 250W pedelec conversion kit is also noticeably stronger than the EBS Plug & Drive. This enables it to keep its speed on a constant level even with longer inclines. The installed PUMA engines have a particularly high efficiency, which allow them to withstand higher loads permanently. With the EBS PUMA 250W pedelec conversion kit, you can arrive relaxed anywhere, since you are perfectly prepared for all features of landscapes.

The V2 version of the Puma conversion kit provides a finerpower control and offers you more tuning possibilities, than the former version. The Puma V2 conversion kit includes our strong Puma motor and a display with USB connection . Both display and controller are equipped with the extended V2 communication protocol. This allows you to make more settings via display and thus gives you more control over the riding style of your pedelec than before.

The Components of the EBS Puma V2 Conversion Kit
The basic box contains all the small parts required for the conversion. Depending on the retrofit kit, these include, for example, various cables, mounting materials, sensors, adapters, torque arms, cranks, plugs and various other parts. For some conversion kits we offer a basic box for the front and rear wheel. Make sure that the selected base box fits your engine type.
PUMA 250W Front Wheel Motor
The PUMA 250W motor is one of the strongest geared motors . The Puma convinces with its smooth freewheel and it is known for its long service life, as well as its high load-bearing capacity, which it owes to good workmanship and its robust design. The 250W version is suitable as a more powerful pedelec motor with up to 900W maximum input power . The front wheel motor has a 6-hole disc brake mount . 30 cm extension cable for the Puma rear wheel motor and 90 cm extension cable for the Puma front wheel motor are included in the scope of delivery for connecting the motor and the controller.
PUMA CST Motor
The Puma rear wheel motor is available as a cassette motor. The integrated plug-in ring holder eliminates the need for a screw ring. This has the advantage that you can continue to use your existing ring. The modern cassette system enables a wide variety of selectable translation steps. In addition, group-internal cassettes give you your usual switching precision, which is clearly above that of the screw ring. The cassette motor has the usual 6-hole brake disc mounting. The housing of the Puma has also been modified. Thanks to its slimmer shape, it is now also compatible with the smaller 160 mm brake discs. Furthermore, the number of individual parts has been reduced, making the motor structure stiffer and more stable.
Dot-Matrix Display with Control Options
You get a modern display with aUSB-Port as charger for your smartphone. With the V2 communication protocol, you can make various settings yourself directly via display . This includes the number of support levels. You can individually adjust the support strength for each stage so that the driving behaviour can be optimally adapted to your requirements. The display shows the battery charge level, the current speed, the selected support level and the mileage covered.
EBS Controller with Temperature Monitoring
The display in the controller selects various current limits, resulting in a natural driving behaviour. The support levels cover a wide range from soft tailwind to a sporty boost. One of the new features of the V2 controller is the thermal protection. The controller permanently monitors the temperature sensor (“NTC“) of the Puma motor and switches off the support in the event of overload to protect the system. Full support is available until shutdown. This means that you can tackle any gradient without hesitation. The Puma V2 conversion kit is therefore also suitable for track profiles with higher gradients of up to approx. 10% and 100 vertical meters (depending on the total weight, impeller size and other parameters).
EBS Cadence Sensor for your Bottom Bracket
The Cadence Sensor (Pedal Assist Sensor, PAS) detects the pedalling movement of the rider and controls the support from the engine. The standard splittable magnetic disc for a square bottom bracket is supplied with the splittable magnetic disc which only has to be mounted on the bottom bracket axle - no further work on the bottom bracket and no mounting tools are required.
Note: If you have a Hollowtech II or a Octalink bottom bracket, you will need a different magnetic disc. Select the EBS pedal sensor set that suits you under the menu item "Upgrade options" at the top of the page. For assistance in determining your bottom bracket, see Electric Bicycle Technology:
36V EBS Pedelec Battery
You need a rechargeable battery to operate the Puma V2 conversion kit. Ebike Solutions offers EBS Pedelec batteries and EBS E-Bike batteries in various designs, e.g. in the form of a water bottle, as a frame battery or in the luggage compartment. Depending on the battery model selected, ranges of over 100km are also possible under everyday conditions (with 36V 24Ah battery – 870 Wh). Optionally, you can also use an existing 36V battery. In addition to the appropriate battery plug, this must have a continuous current carrying capacity of 15A or more.
Thumb Throttle as Start-Assistent
Optionally you can connect a thumb throttle with a start-assist up to 6 km/h to your system. This makes it easier for you to start from a standing position and helps you to push a heavy bicycle. The starting speed can be precisely adjusted and the short reaction time is ideal for a quick start at the traffic lights. The legal guidelines for pedelecs* are still adhered to. A thumb throttle is not required to operate the conversion kit. When purchasing, you can choose from various ergonomic shapes, the function is the same in each case.

Assembly of Brake Disconnectors (optional)
Special brake switches are not necessary due to the very short overrun: As soon as you stop pedalling, the motor stops the support within 0.3 seconds. If you still want to have brake switches, you can easily adjust them at any time and for any type of brake. For this you also need our EBS cable distributor 4-fold. This has a total of four connections for the display, throttle grip (optional) and two for the brake switches.
Assembly of the Brake Disc
Front wheel and rear wheel motors are equipped with a 6-hole brake disc holder. The new housing for the PUMA is considerably slimmer than the previous model, so that now ALL brake disc sizes can be mounted. Previous PUMA models had only 203 brake discs compatible.
Note: Only use 5x8mm screws to mount the brake disc. Longer screws will block the mechanics of the motor and may damage your conversion kit. Suitable screws can be found here: 5x8mm stainless steel TORX screws.
Hub Spacing in the Rear Wheel When Using a Plug-In Cassette
The cassette recording is compatible with almost all common models, often also with 11-fold cassettes. The installation width of 138mm is independent of the plug-in cassette used, it is determined by the built-in cassette holder. Save-In Service: Professional Impeller Construction
Gladly we take over the professional impeller construction for you. Our mechanics process only high-quality components and pay particular attention to robustness and longevity. We only use stainless steel spokes and, if technically possible, highly stable aluminium hollow-chamber rims. Please indicate in the order comment after the shopping cart how many pinions/wheels your plug-in cassette has and whether you want a certain valve type (AV/DV/SV). You can also send us your own rim for spoking instead. Please keep in mind, however, that we cannot reduce the price, as the accurate measurement requires additional work. If you would like to order a Tadpole Trike, please let us know in the order note, as it may be necessary to save differently. We will then contact you.
Conversion in our Workshop
You don't want to retrofit your bike yourself? No problem, in our workshop we can convert your ordinary bicycle into an electric bicycle with the conversion kit you have requested. In addition to the retrofit, you will receive a free initial inspection!
