The well-known Puma 250W Motor is one of the most powerful gear motors. In addition to a lot of bang (power) for the buck the Puma 250W excels by its smooth-running freewheel. The 250W version is suited as a powerful pedelec motor with up to 900W maximum power input. The rear wheel motor features a standard thread for screw-on freewheels. Front wheel and rear wheel motors use a 6-hole-pattern disc brake mount. Delivery includes a motor extension cable with 100cm (40in) length, a 8-pin connector and a set of cap nuts, washers and tab washers.
Motor is not laced to a wheel. You can book this service separately.

Attaching brake disc
Front wheel and rear wheel motors use a 6-hole-pattern disc brake mount. With all PUMA motors the distance between brake disc and motor housing is 14.5mm for 160mm and 180mm discs and 24mm for 203mm discs. Experience has shown that the PUMA cannot be used with every disc brake system. Assembly is only possible with 203mm disc. To be compatible with almost all disc brake systems we recommend motors from BMC.
Note: To tighten brake disc to the motor use 5x8mm bolts only. Longer bolts could block the motor's mechanism and damage your conversion kit. Find suitable bolts here: 5x8mm stainless steel TORX bolts.
Instructions to operate PUMA 250W Motors at 48V
Our PUMA 250W Motors are designed to work at 36V Operation at 48V is possible and will increase the respective system's top speed by a factor of 1.3. Please note that this way your bike is considered a pedelec no more by law. Also, with 275rpm and 320rpm motor versions a 12 FET controller has to be used. If interested, send us an email or call us.
