Bafang 250W Mid-Drive Motor

For the EBS Mid-Drive Motor Conversion Kit Ebike Solutions exclusively uses a special latest generation 250 Watt Bafang gear motor. As a bottom bracket motor is will transfer the power directly to the chain and thereby drives the bike. The EBS Mid-Drive Motor includes a 15A controller and cadence sensor. The sensor inside the motor axle makes sure that optimum support is provided any time. Installing a mid-drive motor also lets you keep your existing freewheel.

EBS Middrive Display

EBS Mid-Drive Motor Conversion Kit comes with a large LCD screen in landscape format. With the modern and high-contrast EBS Middrive Display you always have full control with all important information displayed right in front of you in large format. The on-demand background lighting comes in handy at night or in bad weather to keep the display easily readable. Using the three control buttons you can comfortably activate the start-assist and the push-assist. Thanks to its design the EBS Middrive Display can be mounted to the right or left side of the handlebar. Following data are displayed: speed - average speed - maximum speed - remaining battery capacity - total distance - trip distance - selected level of support.

EBS Cadence Sensor for a Natural Ride Feeling

In contrast to our other conversion kits the EBS Mid-Drive Motor Conversion Kit does neither require a cadence sensor nor a PAS disc. Both are integrated into the bottom bracket motor. The cadence sensor is a sensor that measures how fast you pedal.

36V EBS Pedelec Battery

To operate the EBS mid-engine conversion kit you will need a rechargeable battery. Ebike Solutions offers EBS Pedelec batteries in different designs, e.g. in the form of a water bottle, as a seat post battery or in the luggage carrier. The electrical characteristics of these 36V batteries are matched to the EBS mid-engine conversion kits.

Tools for EBS Mid-Drive Motor Installation

To install the mid-drive motor you need a Shimano bottom bracket wrench TL-FC32 and lockring wrench LF-0300 for bottom bracket and headset. Depending on the bottom bracket, you will also need the appropriate bottom bracket tool set: the Hollowtech II mounting tool set or the 4-sided and Octalink mounting tool set. If you do not want to buy the tool separately, you can also borrow it from us for 30 days: Bafang mid-motor set for BBS01 and BBS02 (plus the respective bottom bracket tool set).

A Longer Bicycle Chain or a Chain Extension

The included chain ring has 46 teeth – more than you would usually find in a common chain ring. If this is the case, you might need a longer chain. Both is available from your local bicycle dealer.

You don't want to retrofit your bike yourself? No problem, in our workshop we can convert your ordinary bicycle into an electric bicycle with the conversion kit you have requested. In addition to the retrofit, you will receive a free initial inspection!

Cable system

All cables of the EBS Plug & Drive are equipped with water-protected plug connections – just plug them together and you're done. The length of the connecting cables is adjusted to suit typical conversions. We have extensions for all important cables in our range.
